About Taylor
Taylor is a licensed tattoo artist and certified in medical tattooing from the Sauler Institute. After working as a corporate executive for nearly 15 years in creative brand innovation, she decided to shift careers and focus on her former artistic background combined with her desire to help women feel complete again post mastectomy. After studying at the The New School, NYC, University of Arts London and being a member both the NYC and Long Island Art Leagues, she decided to learn the craft of tattooing both traditional ink and medical tattooing. Her concentration is medical tattooing post mastectomy and scar camouflage.
Paramedical Procedures with Tattoos and After Care
3D Nipple Tattooing & Areola Tattooing
Using a wireless tattoo machine that resembles a large pen, micropigmentation is a non-surgical procedure post breast reconstruction that crafts a natural, three-dimensional areola and nipple (known as a 3-D areola and nipple tattoo). This procedure is for women who have undergone unilateral or bilateral mastectomies, botched breast surgeries where the area has been compromised and helps women to feel whole again after surviving cancer and losing their natural nipples and areola to surgery. These restorative and elaborate tattoos are created over a two session period and the results are immediate after the first session.
Scar Camouflage
Paramedical cosmetic tattoos help to blend your scars, with your skin’s base color. Scars both small and large, skin imperfections, birthmarks, vitiligo and burns are all types of injuries that scar camouflage helps. The best time to have scars covered up is in the winter time because your skin is at its base color.
After Care
Leave the Tegaderm© bandages on for three (3) days. These bandages help to keep the tattooed area clean and free from bacteria. Day 3 the bandages will come off while you’re in the shower. Please use liquid antibacterial soap such as Dial or SoftSoap lightly on the area for the next three weeks.
Post shower you can use a light layer of Eucerin or Aquafor over the tattooed area.
Light peeling is normal as the tattoo heals so the light layer of cream is helpful.
*DO NOT GO INTO POOLS, BATH, SAUNAS, OCEANS, JACUZZIS for a month post tattooing as these actions can cause the tattoos to swell leading to poor healing and and even cause infection.
